Underage Rental Qualifications
Please review our driver age requirements, insurance rules, and daily surcharge details prior to picking up your vehicle at our Van Nuys location servicing Burbank, Hollywood, and the San Fernando Valley.
1. Required Documentation for Under 25 Drivers
As with renters of age (over 25), all underage drivers must present the following valid documents at vehicle pick-up:
- Valid Driver's License
- Accepted Credit or Major Bank Debit Card — If paying with a debit card, please review our full Debit Card Requirements.
- Proof of Auto Insurance
2. Insurance Policy Restrictions (Under 21)
Mandatory Insurance Coverage: If you are under 21 years old, you MUST hold an active auto liability policy in your own name. We are unable to sell insurance policies to renters under 21 under any circumstances.
3. Daily Underage Surcharges
In addition to the standard daily rental rate, an underage fee will apply based on the renter's age group:
- Ages 18 – 21: $18.00 per day
- Ages 22 – 24: $10.00 per day
Check-In Verification: Make sure you bring all required proof of insurance and valid driver documentation at check-in to avoid reservation delays at our Van Nuys check-in desk.
